Literature Text

i.    standing on tiptoes-
a racing heart barely keeping me grounded
your mere glances caused my skin to burn.
(the summer sun had nothing on you, boy.)

ii.                                      stolen kisses in the fall-
                      hidden snugly under dying willows
and whispered secrets on the wind.
(autumn always was your favorite season.)

iii.    like the dead of winter-
                 I quickly became cold.
                            my heart froze over
never again beating the same rhythm.
                                                 (jack frost would be envious.)

iv.                           the prettiest of flowers bloom in spring-
leaving a nasty taste on my tongue.
my body tingled as I thawed.
(my cheeks wet with my own tears.)

Honey,
in only a day-
this is what you did to me.
